I waved my magic wand that evening and made everything mysterious ...
I sprinkled a little Black & White magic over the table ...
One " scary " clown came to visit ...
and a monster, and a witch,
and a zombie ...
We had a party
filled with SpOoKy fun
and then
 they left for trick-or-treating
...

                                       HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I love Easter time!
But recently I have found myself a little tired of all the plastic decorations, confectioneries, artificial colors and commercialism that surround this bright holiday.
While I was looking for ''earthy inspirations", I was pleasantly surprised to see something that my grandma has been doing since I remember her (she is 84 now) featured in the April issue of Country Living Magazine. Every Easter my beloved granny uses blossom gathered from her garden, yellow onion skins, and pieces of pantyhose to dye eggs for Easter.
So this year my son and I decided to come back to this fun old-fashion way of all natural egg coloring.

The eggs turned out great as we had a lot of fun.

"Keep things simple",  I would always hear my mother say, especially the time when we celebrate the sacrifice of the most humble man, who gave us the gift of eternal life,  forgiveness, and salvation.

I am wondering why and how we, the people of today, are constantly losing the purity and simplicity that has played a huge role in the Easter traditions some generations ago?!!

I want my son to think of Easter as a celebration of Life;
A life that is all about giving and helping others.

To me, Easter has always meant the story of the death and the resurrection of Christ.
Easter has always been the time when families and friends gather together and just enjoy simple things in life.

 Easter is Hope and Love.

 Easter is a time for reflection and JOY.

May the Joy of Easter fill up your heart!

HAPPY EASTER TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!

The days are longer, the sun is shining brighter, there is a hint of fresh flowers in the air, the snow is turning to rain, the surrounded gray tones are quickly shedding... The world around us is coming to life again as it is reborn ...
Nature is changing her face ...
Hello,
my name is Spring! Let's Party!

Let's welcome the season and gather together to celebrate the first day of Spring.
But...
How to organize a ''Spring party'' inside when I know that the perfect environment for it is outdoor? How to make the occasion special? What can give the immediate feel of Spring ???

Yes, Spring has always arrived with those happy memories of my bright childhood;
those happy memories of one curious free-spirited little girl drawing spring flowers and butterflies on her notebook;
those vivid memories of my grandma's garden full of dew pink tulips and  white daffodils;
those memories of friends secretly cutting hyacinths from the public parks just to smell the spring scent for a long time...
That's it!
The table setting should provide masses of color, fun, and excitement. The party table should embrace all those spring shades of purple, blue, green, pink...

My son helped me to make this Spring banner from tissue paper

The abundance of colors is the key to the cheerful childishly charming spring table which I want to create:

-the color of the flowers (No party looks its best without flowers),

-the color of the carefully crafted teacups and saucers,

-the charm of lemon & cranberry cupcakes topped with colorful sugar flowers,

 -the color of specially decorated shortbread cookies,

-the natural colors of attractively arranged fruits (Isn't all about the presentation?!),

-the color of all spring touches and details that make the party bright and festive,

 and
the color of the small gifts for the guests as the symbolic gesture of simply saying "Thank you for the wonderful time I spent with you, My Friend. "

How I hope that these vivid, joyful colors of my table setting are loudly shouting ''Party! Let's celebrate SPRING! Let's be Happy!"
How I want this celebration of the season to encourage friendships to bloom all year/life/ long!

Dear Friend ,
Thank you for being my guest !

                                       Happy Spring !

It is  a great pleasure to join these lovely  ladies

It's raining outside and it's still cold, but snow is melting and charming little blooms have begun appearing on the trees... Spring isn't that far away.

But is not here yet.
I am not worried because ''NO MATTER HOW LONG THE WINTER, SPRING IS SURE TO FOLLOW".  In fact, I know that ''She" is drawing somewhere in the South. Usually our city comes into full bloom in April.
Instead of waiting for Mother Nature to present the splendor of Spring in all its glory, I decided to give a little help by soaking all the outdoor colors and set them in our home. Nothing captures the mood of the season better than bringing a little outdoors inside, right?

What better time to be inspired and create - an Early test of Spring at home ...!?
Lets begin with the "early bloomers" by forcing favorite bulbs into flowers. Potted bulbs make delightful decoration and spread the scent of spring, so I transferred a delicate pink hyacinth blossom into a teacup, just before it bloomed.

Another simple project has been calmly waiting for an appropriate time and mood. The time for the Spring Blossom Urn has come. My favorite urn is going to have another life. It hasn't been used since
Christmas; the big pine cone will be replaced with an explosion of flowers.

Please enlarge the photo to see the steps for creating this urn /read "wires"/

After all, isn't spring all about the abundance of colors that awaken our senses and make us wish for changes, new possibilities and new LIFE.

Voila:

A little something here and there, and Spring is finally Home.

I couldn't help it, but continue creating. I've recently developed a new passion for crafting cards and I feel like sharing my freshly made spring cards with you.

 And doing all this is easy with the help of a cup of fresh coffee in my favorite spring coffee mug.
