It's morning.... I am just about to wake up ...I feel how the sun is coming out and a tiny sun ray is trying to enter through the window. I am sensing the loveliness of the newborn day ..., but I wish I can stay a whole day in the cozy bed ...
And then , he is coming , my husband , setting down a "tray" on the bed . First , the warm joy of seeing him , and next unfolding delights of the "tray "...
Yes, it's a surprising breakfast in bed with noticeable statements: a small vintage suitcase instead of a tray , a charming embroidered tray cloth , two cups of coffee with images from Paris , a special Marie Bouvero "tablete de chocolat" , few carefully chosen flowers,'' poin perdu '' ...
I am taking a sip of "cafe creme"' that tastes so warm , so good and I know it made a milky mustache above my lip ; it always does ...
and then I see a vintage postcard of the Eiffel Tower ...
But , wait ...there is something concealed beneath the postcard....
Is it a plane ticket to .....PARIS ....???!!!
..............................................................................
I already picture myself in The City of Light ,
surrounded by the Grand Architecture ....
resting on a park bench near the edge of the Seine .....
shopping at the food market ,
diving in and out of the Parisians cafes and wine bars .....
indulging in fine desserts in the patisserie ....
and on , and on , and on ......
It's a city of Art , Romance , Beauty , Love , Dreams...
Suddenly , I am barely hearing my son's voice : '' MOM, wake up...I am already late for school..."
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY !
My Valentine project: a scented vanilla heart sachet |
Well, to be honest, the plane ticket above is the ticket to Paris from our last summer trip to Europe and couple of years ago my husband surprised me almost the same way with a flight to Havana, Cuba. He is always thoughtful, caring and in love ...
I absolutely have no right to complain, but '' I am a dreamer " .....
In fact, I am happy to have a simple breakfast in bed with no plane ticket at all because I believe that when you make a romantic gesture, you needn't break the bank, a simple thought and attention is so much intimate and expressive!
Be in Love and keep on Dreaming !
Merci beaucoup mes amis pour visiter !
Oh.....you REALLY had me going there, Sylvia! I was thinking, "Wow....what a hubby she has! I've never gotten breakfast in bed!" lol! But what a sweet dream! Happy WW to you, dreamer! :)

ReplyDeleteOk...here is where it fell apart for me. I get the whole breakfast in bed...my hubs does that...he even decorates the tray....and writes little notes...so I am following right along...but then when you said the tray was an old suitcase. Yep, knew you were dreaming there. Sorry, but ALL the men I KNOW, would not think of using a vintage suitcase. Duffle bag, Maybe!
ReplyDeleteBut it is a gorgeous post and a wonderful idea!! Can't take our dreams away!!
What a build up and then a let down. At least you went one time. Nothing is wrong with being a dreamer. I feel sure most people are.

Wishing you sparkles & lots of l'amour this Valentine's Day weekend.

ReplyDeleteOh Girl, you really had me going there. I thought wow, what a Valentine's Day for you. Even if it was a dream today, that is okay, he actually took you another time. WOW. I would so love to go to Paris. What a romantic and beautiful place to sip a little coffee on a sidewalk cafe and enjoy each others company.
I loved your tray using a suitcase and the heart breakfast surrounded by blueberries, so gorgeous. To pretty to eat.
Hope you have a wonderful Pink Saturday and Happy Valentine's Day sweetie.
