The leaves start to fall
Are those snowflakes tumbling down?
Winter has begun
My son’s Haiku
Isn’t it wonderful to wake up in the morning to see through your frost-glazed window how flakes of snow, big as pieces of cotton, slowly spiralling down…The Earth is covered in a so needed white blanket. You get a shower and get ready to leave your home (let say for a walk with your dog) and then, you penetrate into the whole beauty of the impeccable white winter. You are in a fairytale decor, or in a “winter wonderland”, or if it is me – in Tim Burton’s movie.
I grew up in the glamor of the four seasons and as much as I love all of them, winter has always been a special time for me. I am not sure if it is because of the many family celebrations or simply because of the earthy white color delivering an instant sense of invigoration and tranquility.
During winter time, the stillness of Nature makes my mind fresh and calm. The world also seems at peace. The cars move in slow motion. The traffic sounds and city noises are less disturbing and leave people a chance to hear the crunch, crunch, crunch of the snow beneath their boots ...
But, the greatest quality of winter, I think, is this amazing contrast of outside coldness and indoor warmth. There is some unique energy in walking in a cold freezing day, snowflakes dimming your eyes, wind blowing strongly into your face, but you are still, even happy-go-lucky, because you sense the warmth and coziness of your Home.
In winter time all roads lead Home, don't they?
Awesome!
And when you come home, what's better than getting warmed with a cup of an ultimate Hot Chocolate!?
Or, perhaps, a cup of Mocha Maple Coffee?
Freshly brewed hot coffee with 1 teaspoon maple syrup |
What's better than warming your house and making your heart glow with this Mulled Wine!?
Fruity red wine with orange, clove, ginger, and cinnamon |
Or sipping a cup of your favorite milk drink infused with a hint of honey!?
You can always add a shot of rum!
Cheers to All!
Take DELIGHT in these small simple things and as the old saying goes "ENJOY LIFE sip by sip, not gulp by gulp!"
