Canoe Picnic

A summer lake,
tall spirited trees,
young sun's rays,
calm water,
patches of blue sky,
wild flowers,
dragonflies,
canoe picnic,
mini pitas,
olives,
sun-dried tomatoes,
cherries,
sparkling lemonade,
swimming clouds,
earth beneath your body...

It is all you need for a perfect day
of paddling with the safe current,
of entering the silence of your inner being...

"I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order."
- John Burroughs

Thank you!

  1. My dear Sylvia,
You and I seem to always be on the same wavelength (at least I think so!) - often times when I come here to see your beautiful "visual poetry", I am stunned to find that what you are sharing is in sync with what is on my mind for me next blog post. To see YOU (that is you, my lovely, isn't it?) is a thrill, and to know that you too feel that nature brings you back to your "center." Lovely photos, wonderful way to fill my day with inspiration, and a great message to continue on.

    Fond hugs, Anita

  2. Wonderful use of words and images. I

We never take a picnic when we go kayaking, but we enjoy the quiet on the ocean as we let the tide slowly take us where it wants.

    1. Charlie looooves swimming! However, he is not a canoe dog. We camp with him, though; he is so much fun! Thank you for reading my blog, Leslie!
